Ultrasonic Angle Probes – AFP Series
AFP Series Ultrasonic Angle Probes are designed for shear wave ultrasonic testing where access, weld geometry, or defect orientation prevents the use of straight-beam probes.
Angle probes are commonly used for weld inspection, crack detection, and volumetric examination of plates, pipes, and structural components. By introducing the ultrasonic beam at a controlled angle, inspectors can detect defects that would otherwise remain undetected with normal incidence testing.
The AFP Series combines robust probe construction with precision-matched wedges, supporting stable beam angles, consistent coupling, and repeatable inspection results in workshop and field environments.
These probes are suitable for use with conventional ultrasonic flaw detectors and are widely applied across fabrication, pressure equipment, pipelines, and structural steel inspections.
